My Grain Exchange is looking for an Account Representative to help farmers, buyers, and industry partners get the most out of our grain marketplace.
This role is a mix of customer support, account management, and light sales outreach. You’ll be checking in with users, helping them keep their accounts and inventory up to date, learning what grain they are looking to move or buy, and making sure they understand how to use the platform effectively.
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable talking with farmers and grain buyers, can build trust quickly, and is willing to be proactive instead of waiting for customers to reach out.
As an Account Representative, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with users on My Grain Exchange.
Your day-to-day work may include:
Contacting existing users to check in on their account
Asking sellers what inventory they currently have available or are planning to move
Helping users update inventory listings, pricing, grades, quantities, and farm/location details
Following up with buyers to understand what commodities, grades, volumes, and delivery areas they are looking for
Helping connect buyer demand with seller inventory on the platform
Supporting users through account setup, listing creation, bidding, and platform questions
Encouraging inactive users to re-engage with the marketplace
Gathering feedback from farmers and buyers to help improve the platform
Tracking outreach, notes, user needs, and follow-up opportunities
Explaining how My Grain Exchange works in a clear, practical way
The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and comfortable having real conversations with agricultural customers.
You may be a good fit if you:
Are confident speaking with farmers, buyers, and business owners
Have strong communication skills by phone, email, and text
Are organized and good at following up
Can ask good questions and listen carefully
Are comfortable using web-based software and keeping notes in a CRM or admin system
Have a basic understanding of grain, farming, or agricultural markets
Can explain technology in a simple, non-intimidating way
Are self-motivated and able to work independently
Enjoy building long-term customer relationships
Agriculture or grain industry experience is an asset, but not required if you are willing to learn.
Experience in sales, customer support, account management, or agriculture
Familiarity with grain commodities, grades, pricing, delivery terms, or farm logistics
Experience using CRM tools, marketplace platforms, or customer support software
Comfort making outbound calls and following up with customers
Knowledge of Western Canadian agriculture
My Grain Exchange is building a better way for farmers and buyers to connect directly in the grain market. Our platform helps sellers get more visibility for their grain and helps buyers discover available inventory more efficiently.
You’ll be joining a growing marketplace where your work directly helps farmers, buyers, and the overall adoption of the platform.
This is a relationship-driven role with the opportunity to help shape how customers use and experience My Grain Exchange.
Compensation will be based on experience and role structure.
Possible options may include:
Hourly or salary compensation
Performance-based bonuses
Commission or incentive opportunities based on account activity, listings, or successful trades
